Lots of people play sports. It’s a widely popular thing, with people tuning in to watch and participate everywhere. Some people aren’t fortunate enough to play, though.
Lilly Monney loves playing sports, specifically volleyball. Starting when she was around nine, she fell in love immediately.
“I really like volleyball,” Monney said. “There’s a lot of good people and good sportsmanship.”
However, her time of playing didn’t last long. While playing three years later, Monney suffered injuries in her knee and ankle, preventing her from playing.
“I couldn’t get on the court,” Monney said. “I had to take time off from sports.”
Even with her injuries, she didn’t let that bring her down. She maintains a positive attitude and her love for the sport, and hopes to get back on the court one day.
“I really miss playing.” Monney said.
When she isn’t thinking about sports, Monney loves spending time with her dog. She loves animals, her favorite being sea turtles.
“It’s my favorite animal,” Monney said. “I think they’re really cool.”
Despite her love for sea turtles, she loves her dog, too. Some of her time is spent walking with her dog, getting some fresh air and spending time with him.
“I like going on walks with my dog,” Monney said. “I like having that time with him.”
Loving her furry friend isn’t the only thing Monney does. In fact, she has her mind on a different sport.
“I’d like to do competitive swimming,” Monney said.
Two drastically different sports, but both equally rewarding to her.
“I’ve heard a lot of good stories from swimming and my uncle used to swim,” Monney said.
With the inspiration of her family member and her head in the water, Monney hopes to learn how to swim competitively some day.
