Ada Berg, Sophomore, fell deeply in love with her church since she first started attending in 2008, and it has been a staple and source of joy in her life for 16 years.
Berg and her family of five attend New Life Community Church in Gardner, Kansas. Though she says she would still attend church even if she had to go to a different one, she holds New Life dear to her heart.
Her favorite thing about church is, “the community and my friends,” said Berg.
On Wednesday evenings, Berg and her twin sister, Addison Berg, enjoy spending their time at Youth Group with their friends. However, Berg believes her church has room for improvement, especially in the Youth Group.
“I would make changes to the Youth program, make it more fun,” said Berg.
Likewise, though she loves the community, Berg recognizes that people aren’t perfect either. She disapproves of how some attendants of New Life behave outside the church.
“Just some people confuse me that they are there,” said Berg. “They don’t act like it outside of church.”
Despite this, Berg seldom has grievances and insists that the church has not negatively impacted her life in any way. She is very involved in volunteer work at New Life as well.
“I serve in [early childhood] and in Youth,” said Berg.
Overall, Berg deeply loves her church and the people in it. She would recommend attending New Life to others and felt so moved to share how it has positively affected her life.
“It’s brought me joy, peace, comfort, community, something to look forward to, friends,” said Berg.
