Starting every semester this year there will be an event called Market Day where people can go to lunch and buy savory or sweet foods run by Shawna Cole. Her class, entrepreneurship, sets up their stands and sells the food to anyone who wants it.

This event took place in the cafeteria at lunch from 11:00 – 12:50 pm on Thursday, November 30th. Entrepreneurship set all of this up for them to get a small taste of what it would be like to run their own business, as their business was their food stand. One of the biggest things about them running their own stands was, how to have good time management especially if they were getting a lot of customers to quickly and efficiently serve all of them and make sure everything was organized.

There were a whole lot of stands people could choose from and with that a whole lot of food options, each stand with its own unique choices.

The stands that stood out the most with their unique food choices were Pierson Honey and Brodie Minihan’s stand which had their own chicken alfredo and sweet tea, Maci Hunt and Jenna Draves’s stand with hot chocolate, ked coffee, and topping for it, Cayden Burton and Abbygail Inman’s selling their stuffed shells and cherry limeade. That being said just because these ones stuck out the most doesn’t mean every single stand didn’t have good food, all of them had amazing food options and drinks, they all put a lot of hard work into their stands.

The event lasted for about 2 hours and over 2000 kids estimated in the school so they marketers had to make sure they were prepared and had enough food and drinks to serve everyone who wants to buy something

One of the challenges for the students who participated in market day was to make sure they had enough food at their stand to serve plenty of people without running out too fast, and most of them were successful in having enough goods at their stand to serve anyone who wanted some.

The students were doing all of the selling and marketing to the other students in the school but behind it all was the business teacher Shawna Cole, she runs and teaches the entrepreneurship class.

“They have to get a loan from me,” Cole said, all of the students in the class have to earn and ask for a certain amount of money for their market stands. “That’s when they send out their marketing research,” depending on how much they ask for, and the effort they put in their research presentation, but they must keep in mind that they have to keep the loan at a reasonable amount.

This is the biggest deal for everyone in entrepreneurship, they have so much to worry about and make sure they get, if they mess something up it could jeopardize their marketing and loan amount.

Responsibility is something entrepreneurship has to get near perfect for that class, if they don’t have integrity and responsibility they could ruin their advertising, marketing, and loan amount, they must make sure they put 100% effort into everything aspect of their market project.
