Finals Schedule Change

Finals Schedule, 2024

Recently there was a change to the finals schedule for juniors, sophomores and freshmen. May 20 and May 21 were changed from half days to full days because of the five days of school that were missed because of inclement weather.

“Unfortunately there are not enough hours with those lost days for grades at 9-12,” said Dr. Jody Marshall Director of Human Resources. “What we’re proposing is to make May 20, [and] 21 full days at the high school. The 22, that Wednesday [will] go 45 minutes longer and that will allow us to capture those five hours that they’re short [of].”

The District is calling the bus services so anyone who needs to ride buses will be able to do so.

“This is not asking [the staff] to change the school calendar, so it really doesn’t require any action” said Dr. Marshall

People are not really happy about this schedule change, even school staff are not happy about it.

“It’s not that bad because we’re not going to do anything, we’re just gonna sit there for 5 extra hours [total]. It kinda sucks cause we could be at home, but it’s okay.” said sophomore, Logan Pastore.

Having it be finals day, classes are not going to be doing much because once they are done with their finals they will not be doing anything other than just sit in class, unless the teacher can find something fun for the students to do.

The lunch ladies will have to work for extra days because of the final schedule being extended and will have to start cleaning up the kitchen later than they usually do

“I don’t like it because we don’t have time to clean back here in the kitchen, and you guys are sitting in two seminars each day,” said Lunch Lady, Brenda Cloud.
