The girls’ varsity soccer team is gearing up for an exciting season ahead, focused on achieving their goals. With determination and teamwork as their driving force, these athletes are ready to push boundaries and make their mark on the field.
“Our main goal this season is to win the first regional title in program history,” said head coach Derek Wilson.
The soccer team is determined to clinch their first regional title this season, making it their top priority for an unforgettable year on the field.
“We’ve only had one game and we lost in overtime. It was against the top team though.” Wilson said.
The Lady Blazers’ first game was a tough and close match. They lost by a mere one point but fought hard to hold off Olathe East throughout the game. This game set the tone for the rest of the season, motivating the team to fight hard. Their determination will be a key attribute in winning the regional title for the first time.
“We play Lawrence Free State this Thursday (3/28). The expectation is to get the win,” said Wilson
The team put up a remarkable performance in the match against Lawrence Free State High School, a 4-0 victory. With each match, they are inching closer to their ultimate goal for the season.
