On Monday, December 6, 2021, superintendent Pam Stranathan resigned from her position. Her final day as superintendent will be Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Stranathan resigned during the December school board meeting. Her resignation was decided during an executive session of the meeting and no details have been released following why she resigned other than it is through a separation agreement with the board itself.

According to eforms.com, a separation agreement is “a mutually agreed upon contract that allows an employer to terminate an employee without further liability. For the agreement to be legally binding, it must include consideration, such as severance or a one-time payment.”

The majority of Monday’s school board meeting was a three-hour executive session where board members privately discussed decisions to be made. Stranathan’s resignation was one of them. In the last two minutes of the board meeting, a vote was held to approve the separation agreement. It was approved unanimously.
