30 years later the Kansas City Royals are the 2015 World Series Champions.

The Royals were down 2-0 against the New York Mets going into the ninth inning. Luckily, the Royals scored two runs against Mets pitcher, Matt Harvey, in the ninth to tie the game; forcing the game to go into extra innings.

To seal the win, the Royals scored five runs in a dramatic 12th inning.

The first run was scored by Jarrod Dyson off a hit by Christian Colon. Then Colon scored off a hit by Alcides Escobar. To end the game Lorenzo Cain hit a double with bases loaded allowing Paulo Orlando, Escobar and Ben Zobrist to score three runs.

The Royals won the fifth game 7-5.

This was the first World Series win for the Royals since 1985. This series was also the first with multiple extra-inning games since 2001.

After the game held in New York Salvador Perez was named World Series MVP.

Kansas City held a celebratory parade downtown on Tuesday when the team got back from New York.
