When you need to slip off somewhere to completely clear your mind, the gym is an absolute go to.
Sophomore Jordan Scherman likes to use his time working out to clear his head and work on self improvement simultaneously. He likes to work out frequently, sometimes as much as possible.
“At least five times a week, I love to exercise,” Jordan said. “Since I usually work out at home it’s easy to go whenever I need to”
Working out is an easy hobby to pick up, especially due to its age range being good for younger and older audiences, Jordan was lucky enough to begin his journey rather quickly.
“From a young age I guess, I used to go to a powerlifting gym and then I moved to a Crossfit gym, but after that I just went to a normal gym by myself.”
While going to the gym is easy, it takes serious perseverance to consistently go and see the improvement. Jordan however keeps a strong mindset which can lead to even more progress when he ages. Jordan hopes to work out long into the future.
“Probably hopefully till like my 50s, till I’m old enough that I physically can’t anymore, I love to exercise,” Jordan said
Routines at the gym are just as important as consistency, you need to have a good repetitive muscle reigned workout to properly improve the area, Jordan explained how he also took the initiative to make a plan for working out.
“Today I have back and biceps,” Jordan said. “I do barbell rows and then it depends on what I do for my back but for my biceps I love doing dumbbell and barbell curls, it honestly works.”
It’s also an amazing opportunity to connect with others at the gym because you all have similar goals in mind, especially the people who start at a young age. Jordan also happened to fit in that group to make connections, hoping to connect at a young age.
“From a young age I guess, I used to go to a powerlifting gym and then I moved to a Crossfit gym, but after that I just went to a normal gym by myself,” Jordan said
Some people find it hard to find time to go to the gym but Jordan was able to bring the gym to him, working out in his basement has brought him many more opportunities to work out.
“I like working out in my basement most of the time, it’s pretty cold but I love grinding,” Jordan said
Even though he often stays at home to work out, Jordan is still able to use this time as a reason to clear his head when he needs to. Jordan feels similar to others in this sense.
“Yeah totally cause sometimes i just need to get out for a bit to clear my mind and it just helps me,” Jordan said
Some people go to the gym for different morals than others, but at the end of the day almost everyone who goes can say the same thing at the end of their workouts, they feel better. Even Jordan feels this way after his workout sessions
“After it’s over you just feel happy, cause you know you just put all that work in and you feel accomplished,” Jordan said.
