Do you ever imagine being on a stage, in front of a crowd twice a week? Well that’s what sophomore, Samantha Briseno does every Wednesday and Sunday.
Briseno has always loved to sing even from a very young age you could be around the house and you could hear her sing.
“When I was a kid you’d catch me singing while walking in the hallways,” said Briseno.
Since she loved to sing she decided she could use that love she had for singing for a ministry at her church.
“I knew that I needed to serve, and I liked to sing,” said Briseno.
She has been serving in the worship ministry for some years now and doesn’t plan to stop any time soon.
“November 1st, is the first day I entered the worship team 2 years ago,” said Briseno.
Serving is something that requires you to give your time, so Briseno’s day is usually quite full.
“I like to first get some things done, some chores, work on my ministry, finish some homework,” said Briseno.
Besides taking a lot of time, it also takes a lot of responsibility to be on the team.
“I have to wake up at 7am, so I make it on time. I put on the outfit that was planned for the worship team, and then after I get ready I pray, and do some warm-ups,” said Briseno. “I talk with the worship team.”
Briseno has been going to the same church for as long as she can remember.
“I think I was five or six and I’m fifteen so nine to ten years,” said Briseno.
There are many ways of serving others in church, and there are many ministries you can be part of.
“Also maybe be either an usher or kids church teacher,” said Briseno.
Briseno believes to properly minister worship you must constantly be learning the word of God yourself.
“I read my bible and then get ready for the next day,” said Briseno
