Teens collect ‘Toys for Tots’

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, or FCCLA, will be yet another busy activity this winter. The main charity they are accepting donations for this holiday is Toys for Tots. Sponsor Lindsay Posillico has led the members in collecting money throughout the school.
“We are selling treats during seminar and collecting money to give to Toys for Tots,” Posillico said.
The FCCLA club was at the December 6 wrestling tournament seeking donations in the form of toys and money for the charity.
“We are asking students to have their families bring toys if they can,” Posillico said.
FCCLA President Jasmine Bailey has been working since November to help collect money for Toys for Tots.
“We collect the money and go shop for toys,” said Bailey. “We had bake sales around in seminars and at home [wrestling] meets we work concessions to help raise money.”
Bailey sought to be in FCCLA to help people in need.
“I wanted to do more to help the community,” Bailey said. “Helping charities like Toys for Tots is something I like to do.”
FCCLA holds meetings throughout the year either before school, during seminar, or after school.
