Students Play at Winter Orchestra Concert

The Gardner Edgerton Orchestra had a successful performance at the high school auditorium Dec. 11.

Teacher Brian Scott chose a combination of holiday and “classical” music for the orchestras. Each work was chosen to hone a specific set of skills needed by the students. Finding music that the audience would enjoy was also important.

The orchestra played Caprices Espanol, Bach Air, and Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson. The music played showed the flexibility and well roundedness of the students and their teacher.

“[Dr.Scott] likes to play music that is multicultural,” sophomore Sydney Schmidt said.

The audience loved the show; as each group went on the crowd kept getting louder and louder. Scott also enjoyed the concert and said the students grew as musicians and performers.

“I wouldn’t change anything about it,” Scott said.
