Soccer is a very active sport people must train hard for. Brianna shares her struggles,
as well as the highlights
Brianna has been playing soccer since the age of 6 or 7. She mentioned how playing the
sport can be challenging. Soccer is a sport that consists of a lot of running and footwork.
“The most challenging part of playing soccer is all the running we need to do,” she said
In soccer, there are multiple positions to play. Such as, goalkeeper, midfield, forward,
and defender. Each position has a specific area of the field they must be at.
“I’m trying out for the high school, so I’m not sure what position I will be yet,” she said.
“But, I used to always play midfield.”
As a moment in sports, there are often times a game that players don’t forget. Whether
it’s embarrassing, funny, successful, or challenging.
““One game I always remembered, was when I tried being goalie for the first (and last) time,” she said. “The ball was kicked in the net, but hit me in the nose and it started bleeding. It really hurt and I remember crying off the field.”
Sometimes we never really know why we join a sport, we just do. Other times, we have family members, friends, or celebrities we look up to that play in a certain sport we want to try.
“I started playing soccer with my cousins for fun,” she said. “That really sparked my interest in the sport. I also became interested in the sport because my dad played in the past.”
Since there’s a high school soccer team, Brianna has been training in hopes to make the team.
“I hope to make the high school team, and I’m training three days a week for it,” she said.
