“Catching Fire” is the second movie out of The Hunger Games trilogy. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are chosen for the 75th Annual Hunger Games known as The Quarter Quell. President Snow specially designs this hunger games to control the national spread of the uprising against the government. Katniss and Peeta began to realize the turmoil that has taken over Panem and take matters into their own hands.

Although the movie did not completely follow the book, Catching Fire was still a strikingly popular box office movie. Jennifer Lawrence was flawless in her acting skills and truly lured me in when she had the spotlight. The character of Katniss was so perfectly played without flaw. For instance, when Jennifer Lawrence was in the poor districts, she did not act like she was rich.

Ever since the first movie of the trilogy, Peeta and Katniss could be referred to as “star-crossed lovers.” I wish that Katniss would be with Gale, rather than Peeta. Gale, Liam Hemsworth, is not just only a handsome face to look at, but also an impeccable actor. When Gale was beaten severely by the Peace Keepers, I could just not deal with the way they looked.

Peace Keepers control the spread of the Uprising throughout the districts. At first, when I saw them in the movie, I was filled with rage when I saw that they looked like snow-white Power Rangers. In the book they were not described as having white, fluffy armor. Instead they were described as being high-tech and sophisticated. By the end of Catching Fire, I was no longer fixated on the marshmallow Power Rangers; I was just focused on how well the movie came together. The movie truly was a piece of art.

The ending of the movie left the viewers hungry for more. Even though the ending did not match up completely with the ending of the book, all-in-all the movie was exquisite. Hunger Games fans are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the third movie.
