Celebrities and their politics

People constantly check their social media account. They look at updates from not only their friends they follow, but the celebrities as well. These posts often help form opinions, whether it is over what brand of nail polish to use, what video game is the best or what political stance to take.

There are devout follower who religiously follow in a celebrities footsteps, looking for someone to guide their opinions. This is why celebrity posts about politics are so important.

Many celebrities take no shame in sharing their political opinion. Katy Perry endorsed Hillary Clinton, putting “#imwithher” on several posts. Perry used her social media as an outlet to praise Clinton, rather than attack the other candidates like others do.

There are other celebrities who get into fights on twitter over their political viewpoints. These fights, while annoying and take up majority of your timeline, give those who follow the fight two sides of an issue. They can then form their opinion based on the information presented to them.

It is important that celebs continue posting their political opinions. Their uninformed followers suddenly become informed just by the click of a button. So, even though seeing tweet after tweet about how some celebrity hates Donald Trump gets repetitive, it is key for those who are blind to politics.
