On Friday, November 27, tragedy struck the Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado when a man open fired on the facility. The man was later identified as Robert L. Dear, age 57. 

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization that deals with family planning, contraception and reproductive problems.This is also an organization that provides abortion services for those who need it. They are a reliable health clinic that is used across the country. During the attack Twitter started using #standwithPP to show their support for those involved. 

Dear killed three people including a police officer and left nine wounded. The wounded include five police officers and four civilians and they are all in good condition. The police were involved in a standoff with him that lasted six hours. Dear barricaded himself inside the facility and gunfire was exchanged.

According to KTLA 5, there was not an actual motive behind Dear’s actions. He had told the police officers that he acted alone. 

Dear is now being held in the Colorado Springs jail without bail. On Monday, November 30, he will be put on trial for his actions.
