The passion a person must have to continue to practice an activity even through weak moments is something very rare to see nowadays. However, it’s not impossible. Afterall, a 14 year old freshman is able to do it so effortlessly.
Heather Pena-Cabrera is able to handle the school-life balance while also involving herself in the high school orchestra.
“I practice 10 minutes at home every Friday,” Pena-Cabrera said. “in order to complete homework afterwards.”
The fun, active schedule of the orchestra is something that Pena-Cabrera is willing to heed by. All because of her love for it.
“I just love when I am attuned with the instrument,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And to be able to play it correctly.”
While Pena-Cabrera has a respectable love for orchestra, she isn’t what one considers a genius. Despite this, she continues to push through.
“I keep playing because I love classical,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And my mom also encourages me to still play.”
Pena-Cabrera’s love of orchestra is something that truly cannot be tested! However that doesn’t mean she doesn’t do anything else. In fact, there are other pieces of Heather’s personality that show in her hobbies.
“I started [drawing] at 5 years old,” Pena-Cabrera said. “I liked to see the completed product on paper.”
Art is also a fun aspect of Pena-Cabrera that many people do not know about her.
“I draw when I’m bored,” Pena-Cabrera said. “Or I doodle in class.”
So, even though Pena-Cabrera may not practice art very often, she still resonates with it.
“I enjoy art because I can put all of my frustrations on a piece of paper,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And be all relaxed after.”
Art is just another part of Pena-Cabrera that shines compared to the other people around her. However, once again, art and orchestra are not the only things that Pena-Cabrera is passionate about.
“I am learning [witchcraft] on my own,” Pena-Cabrera said. “By reading books on magic.”
Pena-Cabrera has a huge love for Witchcraft! It has been a part of her life for a long time
“I first learned about witchcraft when I was young,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And I was a big fan of fantasy and wanted to learn about magic.”
So, while it began only as a wish to learn more about magic, Heather has truly connected with witchcraft.
“I enjoy witchcraft because it’s peaceful but I get to learn spells too,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And connect to gods and connect with other worlds.”
The diversity of everything that Witchcraft has to offer has really won Pena-Cabrera’s heart! It is something that she cannot let go even if she had to leave behind all of her other hobbies.
“Witchcraft, It’s a childhood connection [of] wanting to learn magic at a younger age,” Pena-Cabrera said. “It was a big dream so I’m achieving childhood dreams.”
All of these fun parts of Pena-Cabrera ultimately make up so much about her. They make up a big portion of her life.
“[The best part of my life is] learning witchcraft,” Pena-Cabrera said. “And being with friends, it’s a safe circle.”
In addition to all of her amazing hobbies, Pena-Cabrera has an amazing social life. These small things are all helpful to Pena-Cabrera in her journey to fulfill her future wishes!
“I want to help people medically, or [be] a therapist, or social work,” Pena-Cabrera said. “I want to be successful and have a billion pets, of all kinds.”
In the end, these sweet and simple hobbies will all help Pena-Cabrera to grow up into a great person! So, hopefully, in the future there will be more information to come from Pena-Cabrera.
