The homecoming parade is the one event that connects communities to celebrate and admire the achievements accomplished since beginning of the school year.
From clubs to sports, students and teachers come together creating spectacular floats to celebrate through the town. This is a time where spectators and participants enjoy and embrace the moment together. Tennis player Addison Wiley, junior, is a participant in the homecoming parade.
”It’s kinda fun going and seeing all the little kids and throwing candy at the little kids and hopefully they go to Gardner and play some tennis,” Wiley said.
Others might be a part of clubs and come to the parade to represent and embrace the club. The FCCLA is a club that was a part of the parade and their president, Adamaris Leon Mendoza, senior, is someone that loves her club deeply.
“The parade was really fun. It was nice getting to meet up with everyone apart from FCCLA and watching us all work together and see the end results,” Leon Mendoza said. “I’ve been participating in the hoco parade since my freshman year and it’s a huge thing I’ll always remember.”
Though some might be in the parade itself, others are also spectators enjoying and reminiscing with family and friends enjoying the moment. Quinley Sullivan, junior, is someone who went to the parade to spend time with her little sister.
“I’m going with my little sister to see the cheerleaders we know. I’m just going for fun,” Sullivan said.
The parade is a moment for everyone to remember, have a great time, and enjoy the moment the high school provides.
