Last week GEHS held a book drive where the seminar that brought in the most books would get an ice cream party, now the results are in.
The book drive was held by the Interact Club which is run by Cassie Byars.
“It was … for our local community outreach project,” Byars said.
In the end, 745 books were donated to the book drive. Which ended up being more then what was originally thought according to Byars.
One of the major motivators for donating books was the ice cream party that would be given to the seminar with the most books gathered. But which seminar won the ice cream party?
“Mrs. Hunting’s,” Byars said. “They had over 220 books.”
The Interact Club is planning on doing more drives, with a food drive being planned for later in the spring.
“We actually were wanting to do a food drive in the spring with the National Honors Society,” Byars said.
