Have you ever wanted to learn to knit or crochet? Maybe even learn to sew? If so, the Fiber Arts Club is the perfect club for you.
The Fiber Arts Club is one of the many new clubs introduced at GEHS this year. Leslie Rahn is one of the club sponsors and the resident crocheter.
“…We are a group of people who do all kinds of different things with fiber,” Rahn said. “So yarn, fabric, and thread.”
The club is open to anyone, no matter if someone has done fiber crafts before or not.
“We would love to have people that join our group that just want to do something with their hands and create, but have never done anything before,” Rahn said.
Currently the Fiber Arts Club is collecting old Blazer t-shirts.
“…We’re trying to create a quilt that represents GEHS through t-shirts,” Rahn said.
The Fiber Arts Club would like to have a day where the club is opened up to the community so that people can learn or teach others about fiber crafts.
“I needed a place to be where I could be around people who were interested in the things that I was interested in…” Rahn said.
The Fiber Arts Club meets on Tuesdays after school in the library. The club meets from three to four.
