The summer season is upon us, meaning the pool is open and packed full of people. When at the pool there are a few things you can do to keep from getting hurt or ill.
While outside make sure to apply at least SPF 30 sunscreen about every two hours. It is especially important to do this if you have been in the pool or have been sweating.
Since ticks are quite common in the summer you have to be careful when walking in overgrown and grassy areas. After taking a walk, always check for ticks on your legs or anywhere else they could have jumped on. Make sure to carry bug spray with you to spray on your legs to keep them off. Wear long socks as well to help keep them off your legs better.
With the summer heat you have to make sure you stay hydrated to not get heatstroke. If you’re outside and go from being super hot to shivering you need to get into an air conditioned place and drink plenty of water as shivering is a symptom of heat stroke.
Make sure to stay safe during summer break this year and enjoy the next few months.
