There is a new face around GEHS and her name is Faith Jolly. Jolly is our new SRO (Student Resources Officer). Her job is to protect GEHS students and keep our school safe.
Jolly wanted to become an officer because she wanted to be a positive influence.
“I just wanted to be able to shape the minds of our future, the youth,” she said. “They’re the ones who’re going to be in charge of our future one day, so I wanted to be a positive influence.”
Jolly graduated from GEHS in 2015 and has noticed all the changes that have been made to the school since then.
“Well, they got the freshman wing and the ATC building and there’s a lot more phones in backpacks than we had,” Jolly said.
Jolly has a special connection to GEHS and thinks that its relatively small scale makes us more of a family and closer together.
“I think because it’s maybe a smaller school we just happen to know each other. There’s not like six high schools in this one city,” Jolly said. “There’s just this one. So we’re all a lot closer to more of a family here.”
