The Trailblazer yearbook staff and the Blazer newspaper staff walked away with honors from the Journalism Educators of Metropolitan Kansas City awards ceremony Thursday, April 23 at St. Teresa’s Academy.
The yearbook had one individual win honors in the sports reaction contest category and the newspaper had two individuals win in news/informative feature and feature photo categories. Each category had upwards of 50 entries from schools on both sides of the state line

JEMKC has 34 member schools from both sides of the state line that compete in 52 broadcast, web, newspaper and yearbook categories. Judges for this annual contest included professionals from all across the nation in digital and print journalism, graphic design, photography, illustration, education and other communication areas.
