USD 231 Superintendent Bill Gilhaus’s contract was terminated by a 4-3 vote at the board meeting on Thursday night after an hour and a half executive session.
Along with Gilhaus, Lana Gerber (Executive Director of Administrative Services) and Christy Ziegler (Executive Director of Educational Services) were terminated from the board.

In favor of the terminations were Tresa Boden, Brad Chandler, Mary Nelson and Rob Shippy. The three that voted against were Mark Grannell, Mary Herbert and James Repshire.

A contract was approved by the Board of Education and former Superintendent Bill Gilhaus less than a year ago that made several changes such as a base salary reduction and a contract extension through 2016.

More information will come out as the board members make a statement about the decision.
